Trends in recent years show a surging interest in the Texas suburbs. Towns such as New Braunfels (located between San Antonio and Austin), Frisco (part of the Dallas/Fort Worth metro area), Georgetown (a 45 minute drive from Austin) and Pearland (near Houston) jumped into last year’s top ten list of the fastest-growing American cities with a population larger than 50,000. Census figures show that although Texas has gained nearly half a million new citizens in one year, 1,200 new residents on average daily, suburban counties outpace the biggest metropolitan areas. Collin County, north of Dallas, is projected to grow by an incredibly 386 percent over the next 35 years, which will bring its population to roughly 3.8 million residents. Marcus Hiles notes that many counties are growing at twice the rate of their adjacent urban neighbors, with Hays, Fort Bend and Kendall counties seeing a 20-23 percent increase over the last five years. “Expansion into these areas is a logical progression,” Hiles points out. “As the total number of people looking for a place to call home increases, economists and developers expect to see the percentage of renters continue to rise as well.”
One of Western Rim Property Services’ most popular developments is the Mansions at Stone Hill, located just north of Austin, Texas. Marcus Hiles, founder and CEO of Western Rim Properties, designed the Mansions at Stone Hill to be a perfect complement between an energetic culture and the resilient beauty of the Texas landscape. Here, residents can enjoy the feel of a rural life, yet a vibrant, vivacious city is just a few miles down the road.
The Mansions at Stone Hill feature a 370-unit apartment complex with options available for both luxury and senior living. Hiles and Western Rim selected this Pflugerville location due to its proximity to Austin as well as important social locations like Home Depot, Target, Best Buy, 24-Hour Fitness, several fast-food restaurants, and a movie theatre. On site itself, residents have access to a social lounge with HDTV entertainment, an ultramodern fitness center, and a resort-style pool. A key component of the Western Rim Properties philosophy is to create a community spirit within the development, and the Mansions at Stone Hill provide that spirit in abundance.
If asked where the top city for tech startups may be, most would guess the San Francisco Bay area or Silicon Valley. Surprisingly, however, the correct answer is Austin, Texas, which in addition to decades as a music mecca – the international South by Southwest Festival takes place here each year – has been the fastest growing tech town in the country for several years running. More than 147 Austin startups securing almost $1 billion in funding in 2015. Along with fresh entrepreneurs, industry giants like Amazon, Google, and Facebook now have offices in town. Meeting the increased housing demand in the area is real estate developer Marcus Hiles, whose dream of upscale, ecologically-minded, yet affordable, homes for the growing professional class is coming to fruitiion through more than 15,000 residential units that his company, Western Rim Property Services, has built throughout the Lone Star State, in cities such as Austin, Dallas and Fort Worth.
